Amy Nelson LIVE

June 24, 2023 @ 8:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Event Series Event Series (See All)

FACTOR funded, Canadian country music artist Amy Nelson is blazing trails at home and abroad. With her hometown of Regina, Saskatchewan, as a springboard, Amy has risen into the spotlight across Canada and Australia as a vibrant singer, songwriter, musician, and multi-enterprise businesswoman.

Amy is readying eight new songs for her appropriately titled fourth album, Chapter 4. “I can’t wait to share this new music with my fans and followers. I am thrilled to have Jeff Dalziel producing this new album. As a writer for Sony/ATV, he has been a great mentor for me. He helped set up co-writes and source additional songs, which have all come together to create this strong, new package of music.”

Most recently, Amy recorded a one-off single in 2022, “Trippin’,” for top Canadian country music label Open Road Recordings, produced by CCMA Award winner Jeff Dalziel (Washboard Union, Nice Horse). The playful song, whose Valentine’s Day-released video has been viewed more than 125,000 times on YouTube, earned Amy her highest-charting single to date on Canadian Country Radio, peaking at #52.

Trippin’ was the follow up to Good Intentions, her third album, which was fan voted No. 2 on SaskMusic’s Best Saskatchewan Albums list and spawned TWO Top 10 singles on Australia’s KIX Country Radio Network. Her sophomore album, Coming Back For More, came in 2014 following her self-titled debut in 2009.

Amy’s been working her way up through the Canadian music scene for years. She’s collected over 44 Saskatchewan Country Music Award nominations — yes, that is 44. Forty-four. Not four. Not a typo. She also won Entertainer of the Year in 2018. While serving on the SaskMusic board of directors from 2011 to 2018, she was instrumental in advancing the province’s music industry.

Empowering the next generation of artists is a driving force for Amy, as seen through her former work as a high school music teacher and later as she opened her own singing school for kids. Since Amy launched Sing Like a STAR in 2011, this business she created and oversees has encouraged more than 3,000 Saskatchewan children to grow in confidence and follow their dreams.

Amy models this as she tenaciously travels the world in pursuit of her own musical ambitions. She’s entertained audiences in the United States, United Kingdom, Mexico, New Zealand, and Thailand. Yet, Amy reserves a special place in her heart for the country where she landed her very first teaching job: Australia. And, the feeling seems to be mutual.

This love of music and travel, along with her collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit, led Amy to create Export Entertainment, a company creating international exchanges between artists in Canada and other countries. Recent projects include bringing a Canadian band with her on tour in Australia and connecting top Australian country artists with musical opportunities in Canada. Exchanges in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and United States are also in the works.

Her international efforts have been recognized back home in Canada. In April 2019 Amy was recognized from the floor of the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly for her intercontinental musical successes. She also was included in a 2018 JUNO Awards video featuring FACTOR-funded Canadian artists who have gained popularity abroad.

Amy has performed at the Calgary Stampede, Canadian Music Week, Country Thunder Saskatchewan, AmericanaFest, BreakOut West, JunoFest, Australian Music Week and hundreds of other events, festivals and venues.
